If I Were a Bell
Nov. 22nd, 2003 11:01 pmGuys and Dolls is pretty good. Tonight, though, I read the first 7 chapters or so to Ellen Foster, which Mrs. Gordon lent me. It's okay so far. I like it better than what she compared it to.
Today sucked, pretty much. I woke up in severe pain from leg cramps, took some Aleve, and then writhed and thrashed around because it wasnt kicking in. I ulitmately woke up to my father pounding on my bedroom door, not saying a word. I spent my whole day getting bitched at by my mother. All she does is bitch, bitch, and then bitch some more. Anyway, I rolled my eyes at her ONE time, and she's all "You've been rolling your eyes at me all day [bitch bitch bitch and bitch some more] and you're not going to that cast party tonight." So yeah, Ryan and I stayed for about 10 minutes and then left.
Good thing though is that I momentarily kidnapped David Conison, *sigh*. What a guy!
My favorite song to sing from Guys and Dolls is "If I Were a Bell." I know, I'm dork, and I sing too much, but really, I love this song. Unfortunately, I do not feel this way when I'm with Ben. Things are awfully boring and he's not much of a conversationalist and he's not affectionate and it feels way too middle school. I don't want to dump him though; I hope things work themselves out.
Now: If I Were A Bell!!!!
Ask me how do I feel
Ask me now that we're cozy and clinging
Well sir, all I can say, is if I were a bell I'd be ringing!
From the moment we kissed tonight
That's the way I've just gotta behave
Boy, if I were a lamp I'd light
And If I were a banner I'd wave!
Ask me how do I feel, little me with my quiet upbringing
Well sir, all I can say is if gate I'd be swinging!
And if I were a watch I'd start popping my springs!
Or if I were a bell I'd go ding dong, ding dong ding!
Ask me how do I feel from this chemistry lesson I'm learning.
Well sir, all I can say is if I were a bridge I'd be burning!
Yes, I knew my moral would crack
From the wonderful way that you looked!
Boy, if I were a duck I'd quack!
Or if I were a goose I'd be cooked!
Ask me how do I feel, ask me now that we're fondly caressing
Well, if I were a salad I know I'd be splashing my dressing
Ask me how to describe this whole beautiful thing
Well, if I were a bell I'd go ding dong, ding dong ding!
